Terms of Service

Quirky Ball · Effective date: October 5, 2026

1. Overview and Acceptance

These Terms govern Quirky Ball (version 2.0.0 and later, and earlier versions where still in use), provided by Junhee Choi under the name House Duck in Germany.

Use of the game requires acceptance of these Terms. The shared House Duck Privacy Policy is a notice explaining personal-data processing; acknowledging it is not blanket consent to that processing. A required checkbox acknowledging acceptance of the Terms and receipt of the Privacy Policy does not replace separate optional consent required for advertising, analytics, or other processing.

2. The Service

Quirky Ball is a free-to-play, advertising-supported mobile puzzle game for Android and iOS. It includes:

  • Merge-puzzle runs, the lab with its abilities, upgrades and reagent collection, and related events
  • Ads — rewarded, interstitial, banner, and native ads (Google AdMob)
  • Guest play without sign-up, and optional account linking with Google Sign-In (Android and iOS) or Sign in with Apple (iOS)
  • Supabase-backed accounts, game-state synchronization, rankings, friends and gifts, invitations, mailbox, profile customization, purchase entitlements and reward state
  • Virtual currencies and items such as gems, reagent and tickets
  • An in-app Quick Report for sending problem reports to House Duck

The game offers optional one-time (non-consumable) purchases: Remove Ads, the Starter Package, the Yakwon Package (yakwon), and VIP 1. There are no recurring payments.

3. Age Requirement

The game may only be used by persons aged 14 or older. Any higher minimum age required by local law for playing the game itself must also be met. If we learn that a user is under 14, we may delete the related account and data.

Before entering the game, you select your birth year and month; the app calculates only an age band on the device and does not save or transmit the year/month. Users under 14 cannot enter the game. Users aged 14–17 can play, but ads and optional usage analytics are turned off for them. Users aged 18 or over can proceed to the standard advertising-consent flow after accepting the required terms. This does not replace identity/age verification or any required parental authorization; details are in section 10 of the Privacy Policy.

A minor’s contractual capacity and any need for approval by a parent or other legal representative are governed by applicable law. Where legally required, that approval must be obtained for accepting these Terms and using the game. The age for independently consenting to personal-data processing and requirements for parental authorization vary by jurisdiction and processing purpose and are separate from the minimum gameplay age. These data-consent ages do not mean that all gameplay by persons under 16 is prohibited in Germany.

4. Accounts

  • You can play as a guest without any sign-up; a guest identifier (UID) is then created on your device and the server.
  • You can optionally link your game account to Google (Android and iOS) or Apple (iOS). A linked account can be loaded on another device by signing in with the same Google or Apple account. Some features, such as friends and invitations, require a linked account.
  • If you sign in with a Google or Apple account that is already linked to another game account, the app asks you first; if you continue, that account’s saved progress is loaded and the current guest progress on the device is replaced and cannot be recovered.
  • Guest risk: guest progress is tied to the app installation. If you delete the app, reset the device, log out, or lose the device without linking an account, guest progress and items may be permanently lost. Please link an account to keep your progress. This explanation does not limit purchase-restoration or refund rights under law or store policy, or the Operator’s legal obligations.

5. Purchases and Virtual Items

  • Remove Ads: a permanent, restorable product that removes ads, permanently unlocks speed play, and grants the ad-free benefits shown in the store.
  • Starter Package: a permanent, restorable package containing a profile icon and a nameplate, plus 20 Speed Tickets granted once per purchase. If the account already owns Remove Ads when the tickets would be granted, 2,000 gems are sent to the mailbox instead of the tickets, because speed play is already unlocked.
  • Yakwon Package: a permanent, restorable package of yakwon cosmetic items (such as a profile icon and marble skin).
  • VIP 1: a permanent, restorable benefit that lets reagent keep collecting for longer (up to 8 hours) while the app is closed.
  • The exact contents and price of each product are shown in the app or store before purchase. Products from earlier versions that are no longer sold remain owned and can still be restored where the app supports it.
  • Payments are processed only by Google Play Billing on Android and the App Store/StoreKit on iOS. The store displays price, tax, and payment terms. House Duck does not receive card details; the server verifies each purchase with Apple or Google before granting it.
  • Account-bound purchases: a purchase is granted to the game account that was signed in when it was made. Each product can be owned once per store account.
  • Restoring purchases: use Settings → Restore Purchases while signed in to the same store account (Apple ID or Google account). Restoration checks your store purchase history and copies the permanent entitlements to the game account currently signed in. One-time bonuses, such as the Starter Package’s Speed Tickets or the gems replacing them, are granted only once per purchase and are not granted again by restoring, including to another game account.
  • Minors must obtain approval from a parent or other legal representative for paid purchases where required by applicable law. This clause does not impose additional liability on the representative or waive a minor’s statutory rights.
  • Refunds and withdrawal rights follow store rules and mandatory consumer law; statutory rights are not limited.
  • When a refund, cancellation, or chargeback is confirmed, the Operator may revoke the related entitlements and reasonably adjust remaining tickets, gems or other items granted by that purchase. If granted items have already been consumed, further delivery or restoration may be restricted.
  • If objective evidence shows repeated purchase-use-refund cycles, duplicate compensation claims for the same transaction, false unauthorized-payment reports, or similar abuse, the Operator may investigate and proportionately restrict purchasing or social features, temporarily suspend the account, or terminate it in serious cases. The user may contact support about the decision and its basis and request a review.
  • A legitimate refund request, a genuine unauthorized or minor purchase report, or the exercise of mandatory consumer rights is not by itself grounds for a sanction.
  • Virtual currencies and items (such as gems, reagent and tickets) are earned in the game, through rewarded ads, events, invitations or mailbox rewards, or as part of a purchased package. They cannot be bought individually for money and are not sold as separate products.
  • Virtual currencies and items have no cash or real-world value and may not be sold, transferred, or exchanged outside the game. This does not limit refunds or restoration rights required by mandatory law or store policy.
  • Virtual currencies, items and progress are stored on the device and in the server account. They are lost when the account is deleted, when unlinked guest progress is lost (section 4), or when the service ends, and cannot be restored. This explanation does not exclude purchase-restoration or refund rights under law or store policy.
  • Mailbox rewards may have an expiry date shown in the mailbox; unclaimed rewards expire after that date.
  • The Operator may adjust how virtual currencies and items are earned or spent to keep the game balanced, subject to applicable law and Section 12. Statutory consumer rights and purchase-restoration or refund rights under law or store policy remain unaffected.

6. Advertising and Optional Analytics Consent

  • The game displays ads served by Google AdMob; watching rewarded ads is optional. Declining advertising consent does not prevent gameplay, but rewards conditional on completing an ad view may be unavailable.
  • The optional usage-analytics choice jointly controls House Duck usage analytics stored in Supabase (including basic stability diagnostics) and Firebase Analytics (including tutorial completion, which may also be used to measure our Google Ads campaigns). Users aged 18 or over make an explicit choice that is not preselected, separate from required terms acceptance and advertising consent. Essential account, currency, transaction, and security processing is separate.
  • Declining optional usage analytics does not restrict the game, its features, or rewards. The analytics choice can be changed or withdrawn at any time in the app settings.
  • The optional usage-analytics choice is separate from advertising consent through Google UMP and the iOS ATT choice.
  • The Firebase-only notice and setting in older versions such as Quirky Ball 1.1.2 (build 53) control Firebase Analytics only. A previous Firebase-only ON choice does not retroactively extend to the combined scope; a fresh explicit choice on the new notice is required.
  • Users in regions where consent is required (such as the EEA and the UK) may be shown a Google UMP consent flow. Advertising choices can be managed through Ad Privacy Settings in the app and device settings.
  • Data processing related to ads and analytics is governed by the Privacy Policy.

7. Rankings and Social Features

  • Rankings show your nickname/display code, country, profile customization and ranking values (such as best score or lab power) to other users.
  • Detailed play, weekly and season records are normally kept for 28 days; record-specific timestamps and the next daily cleanup follow section 6 of the Privacy Policy. Best records and current ranking values are kept while the account exists.
  • Friends can see each other’s nickname, country, ranking values, tier, profile customization and ranking changes. Friend requests, relationships, gifts and invitation status are stored on the server to provide those features.
  • Invitation rewards are granted only when the conditions shown in the app are met; self-invitations, mutual invitations and similar abuse are not rewarded.

Inappropriate nicknames or abnormal scores may be removed from rankings. Ranking removal, nickname measures, or social-feature restrictions are based on verifiable facts and applied proportionately to the violation. Where possible, we give reasons and an opportunity to request review through support. A legitimate refund or rights request is not abuse by itself.

8. Quick Report and Prohibited Conduct

You can send a problem report with Settings → Quick Report. The report text and basic app information (app version, build, platform and language) are linked to your account so we can investigate. Do not include passwords, payment details or other people’s personal data. A Quick Report does not guarantee an individual reply; if you need a reply or want to exercise legal rights, email support@houseduck.in.

You must not:

  • Manipulate the game using cheats, automation tools, or modified clients, or exploit bugs to obtain currencies, items or rankings
  • Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the Software (except as permitted by applicable law)
  • Attack or overload the servers or ranking systems
  • Use nicknames or reports that defame or offend others, or send spam or abusive reports
  • Violate applicable laws

Where a violation is established, the Operator may restrict use or particular features, withhold or reverse improperly obtained rewards, or remove ranking entries, based on the facts and proportionately. Account deletion is used only where necessary; where possible, reasons and an opportunity for support review are provided. Exercising legal rights is not grounds for a sanction.

9. Intellectual Property

Intellectual-property rights in the Software belong to the Operator or relevant third-party licensors. The Operator grants only a non-transferable, non-exclusive license for personal, non-commercial use. Exceptions permitted by applicable law remain unaffected.

10. Statutory Conformity and Rights

Statutory requirements for conformity of digital products and the remedies arising from them, as well as other mandatory rights, remain unaffected. These protections take precedence also in cases of account or data loss, entitlement adjustments, restrictions or account termination, service discontinuation, and game-balance changes. Recovery or restoration limitations elsewhere in these Terms do not exclude purchase-restoration or refund rights under law or store policy.

Where applicable, you may request remedies for defective digital products, including correction, a price reduction or termination, and necessary security updates. Store refund procedures are not the only route for exercising statutory rights; requests concerning the Operator’s responsibilities may be sent to support@houseduck.in. Statutory withdrawal rights do not automatically expire merely through downloading, use, or these Terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

Liability is unrestricted for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, and any liability that cannot be limited by law. For ordinary negligence, liability for breach of essential contractual duties may be limited, to the extent permitted by law, to foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

12. Changes and Interruption of Service

Changes or discontinuation for updates, maintenance, or technical reasons are subject to applicable law, including the requirements of German Civil Code Section 327r where applicable. Where required, this includes valid reasons, no additional cost, clear notice, information on a durable medium, and statutory termination or refund rights for impairment.

13. Account Deletion and Data

  • You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app.
  • In-app deletion removes the account profile, progress, currencies and items, synchronized state, social connections, mailbox and in-app reports and cannot be undone; a Google or Apple link is removed. Some detailed play records may remain under the 28-day calculation and daily cleanup in section 6 of the Privacy Policy. Device-only settings can be deleted separately.
  • Store transactions are not deleted with the game account. Permanent purchases can later be restored to another game account under section 5; one-time bonuses are not granted again.
  • Transaction records controlled by Apple or Google and minimal records needed for legal obligations, payment/refund handling, fraud prevention, or legal claims may remain until those purposes end.
  • If you cannot access the app, you may request deletion by email. Nicknames and display codes may be visible to other users and are not authentication. Do not send passwords or full payment details. If needed, we will explain the minimum additional information required to process the request. See the Account Deletion page and Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect legal changes or service improvements. Material changes will be announced in advance through an in-app notice or this page. Continued use alone is not automatic agreement to all changes or optional personal-data processing. Changes requiring separate consent by law require that consent; rights under applicable law and mandatory consumer protections are not waived.

15. Governing Law and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany (the Operator's place of residence). Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected where applicable.
